BELIEVE AND BE SAVED
JESUS SAVES
The Statement of Faith
1. We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God.
The Holy Bible is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is infallible, authoritative and trustworthy rule for faith and life. It was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Ghost. The Bible is the perfect treasure of divine instruction. It is composed of 66 books - 39 of the Old Testament and 27 of the New Testament. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21.)
2. We believe that there is One True and Living God.
He is the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Ruler of the universe. He is Holy (Rev. 4:8), Eternal (Isaiah 57:15), Omnipotent (Jer. 32:17,27), Omnipresent (Psalm 137:12), Omniscient (1 John 3:20). He is Love (1 John 4:8, 16), the Light (1 John 1:5), He is a Spirit (John 4:24), the Truth (Psalm 117:2), the Creator (Isaiah 40:12,22,26). He is to be worshiped (Gen. 24:26; Ex. 4:31; 2 Chron. 29:28; 1 Cor. 14:25; Rev. 7:11). He is to be served (Matt. 4:10; 1 Cor. 6:19; Phil. 3:7; 1 Thess. 1:9; Heb. 9:14). He is to be proclaimed (Matt. 28:19f.; John 14:15f.; Acts 1:8).
3. We believe in the Divine Trinity or Godhead.
There is one God in three Divine Persons - Distinct Persons - the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. All three are One God, coeternal and coequal yet there is only One God - not three gods., (Isaiah 44:6,8; 45:5; Gen. 1:26-27; 3:22; Matt. 3:17; 28:19; Luke 10:35; 2 Cor. 13:14).
4. We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus.
Jesus Christ was miraculously conceived and born of the Virgin Mary, (Luke 1:42). Mary ceased to be a virgin after the birth of Jesus (Matt. 1:25, Matthew 13:55-56 & Mark 6:3).
5. We believe in the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ rose from the dead in the same body after three days from the grave. He was raised in a glorified body (still retaining his crucifixion wounds). He ascended bodily into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, and rules heaven and earth. (John 2:19; 1 Cor. 15; Luke 24:39). Likewise, we Christians will be raised from the dead with a glorified body to spend eternity with the Lord.
6. We believe that Salvation is by God’s Grace through faith alone not of man’s works.
Salvation is being saved from the righteous judgment of God upon the sinner. Salvation is obtained by grace alone, through faith alone, in the perfect work of Christ alone (John 3:16) and not by our good works (Rom. 3:20; Eph. 2:8-9) but by the perfect redemptive work of Jesus Christ alone at the cross of Calvary.
7. We believe in the Spiritual Regeneration.
The new birth is a work of God's Grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.
8. We believe in Justification.
The full acquittal upon the principles of His righteousness at the cross for sinners who repent and believe in Christ. Justification brings the believer unto a relationship of peace and favor with God.
9. We believe in Sanctification.
True believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is empowered to progress in moral and spiritual maturity through the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in him.
10. We believe that every true believer in Christ enjoys the promise of Eternal Security.
Once saved by Jesus Christ is always saved by the same Christ. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand," (John 10:27-28). Christ has done all that is needed for our salvation and he says that those who have eternal life will never perish. Those who appeared to be Christians but have fallen from the Truth were never Christians from the start (1 John 2:19). Eternal security does not mean that we have a license to sin (Rom. 5:21-6:2) and those who say it is a license to sin, do not understand eternal security and how God's ability to regenerate the sinner and turn his heart to repentance (2 Tim. 2:25).
11. We believe that Christian Church is the rightful place for Christians to worship.
God calls Christians to his Church where the Word of God is preached, where believers are discipled to serve the Lord Jesus and His Kingdom, and build up one another (Matt. 16:18). True Church consists of all true believers wherever they might be. Believers are commanded not to forsake the assembly (Heb. 10:25).
12. We believe in the Glorious Rapture.
The event will take place soon before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth. While approaching the earth, the trumpet will sound and the Lord shall descend with all the multitude of angels. The event will not be a quiet and pleasant in the ears of every tribe of the earth – the ungodly people. There will be a global powerful earthquakes, the heaven will be shaken and those who died on that particular day who are in Christ will meet Him directly in the clouds of the heaven, then Christians who are alive, who witness that glorious event will hear the trumpet sounding and will be physically caught up to the clouds and meet the Lord Jesus in the air. We will then forever be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:16-5:2). We believe that the coming rapture will take place before the seven years great tribulation (Matt. 24:37-41).
13. We believe in the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ will bodily and visibly return from heaven to earth with great glory and majesty with His saints (Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:30). Jesus Christ will come again on earth to reign and execute justice on earth for a thousand years then the final judgment shall come (Rev. 20:6).
14. We believe in Eternal and Final Judgment.
All who are not justified by faith in Christ and by the blood of Christ will face eternal, conscious, and agonizing judgment away from the presence of God which is the second death in the lake of fire (Matt. 8:12; Rev. 20:14-15; 21:8).
15. We believe in Heaven, the dwelling place of God and His people.
John 14:1-4, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know”.
16. We believe in an ongoing Spiritual Warfare.
There is a spiritual realm of angels and demons. Angels serve God and carry out his will. Demons are fallen angels (2 Pet. 2:4; Jude 6) who war against God and who will ultimately face eternal punishment (Matt. 25:41; 2 Per. 2:4). True believers in Jesus Christ cannot be demon possessed.
17. We believe in the Sanctity of a Christian Marriage.
Marriage as defined as a sacred union between one man and one woman. (Gen 2:22-24)
